1.      Authorities say they have discovered the body of 34-year-old Shanann Watts and the bodies of the two girls, 3-year-old Celeste and 4-year-old Bella.

Prosecutors said they believe all three were killed inside their Frederick home but have not released a cause of death.

Christopher Watts, 33, was being held in the Weld County Jail without bond on suspicion of three counts of first- degree murder and three counts of tampering with evidence, jail records show.​


2.      Two days after the release of the grand jury report on clergy sex abuse in Pennsylvania's Catholic dioceses, the Vatican has responded. "Regarding the report made public in Pennsylvania this week, there are two words that can express the feelings faced with these horrible crimes: shame and sorrow," said Greg Burke, director of the Vatican's Press Office, Thursday. The Vatican had been under increasing pressure to address the report, particularly after Pope Francis failed to mention it during a Wednesday blessing; "Victims should know that the Pope is on their side," Burke said.

As the Denver Broncos try to decide what they'll do to find a backup quarterback, John Elway said Thursday that Colin Kaepernickwill not be a consideration. "You know what, and I said this a while ago: Colin had his chance to be here. We offered him a contract. He didn't take it," Elway said. "As I said in my deposition ... he's had his chance to be here. He passed it."

Elway gave a deposition in May for Kaepernick's lawyers in Kaepernick's collusion case against the NFL. Kaepernick attended the deposition.
