Does your employer offer paid maternity leave? For many people, the answer is no. There is a growing trend of workers donating their vacation time to new moms who don’t get paid maternity leave. According to the 2018 Employee Benefits Survey, 15 percent of employers in the U.S. allow employees to donate paid time off to their co-workers.

The Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster in Japan in 2011 had many devasatating affects. Some may be stretching further that we had previously thought.  French researchers just discovered that some Napa Valley wines that were bottled around the time of the disaster contain radioactive particles from the accident. According to a new study, the average American has  15 perfect days each year.  According to a survey, those days include activities like sleeping in, sunny skies, being outdoors and spending time with loved ones. For the average respondent, the perfect day starts with getting up at 8:15 a.m. It features a sunny day with temps in the mid-70s and involves being outside about three hours. It also includes four hours with family and three hours with friends. And the day is capped off with three hours relaxing in front of the TV and going to bed just before 11 p.m. Sounds pretty good to us!
