Finding a Fiver Could Save Your Day

Headlines from 7/23/18

Mondays are hard, but there are a few ways you can salvage a day that didn't start well. Recently, the U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council asked people what things instantly boosted their moods. While many people got a boost from petting a dog, or doing a good deed, 58% of us got a real thrill out of finding money in our pockets unexpectedly. Nothing beats a surprise handful of cash!

We weren't surprised to see many people have their day made by a dog. In fact, according to a recent survey, 50 percent of female dog-owners say they would rather spend time with their dogs than with their partner and/or family members. 62 percent sad their pups helps them de-stress after work, and 55 percent said their dogs give them emotional comfort after getting bad news. No wonder we like our dogs more than some people!

Things got a little crazy in LoDO this weekend. SO crazy, police had to chase down a stolen tractor. No Joke. A man driving a stolen tractor smashed into cars and buildings downtown on Friday night. The tractor was eventually stopped by a police vehicle that had no choice but to crash into the farm equipment. Officers Tased the driver and made sure he was carted off by ambulance. Two officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and no reports have emerged of injured pedestrians. How was your Friday?
