Coffee Fixes Everything

November 27, 2017

The first day back from a long weekend is rough, thankfully, there's coffee. Coffee can do a whole lot more than just provide that Monday morning pick-me-up, it's is pretty much a miracle drug. New research has found that drinking coffee was linked to a lower risk of heart failure, stroke and coronary heart disease. Drunk up!

While you're filling up that cup 'o joe, maybe add a dash of cinnamon. A new study has found that a property in cinnamon, aptly named cinnamaldehyde, helps burn fat. So cinnamon rolls are basically healthy, right?

There's one place in Denver that people are refusing to get their coffee from, and no it's not our office coffee pot (though that would be a smart decision). Customers are boycotting ink! coffee in Five Points after they displayed a sandwich board reading  "Happily gentrifying the neighborhood since 2014," and "Nothing says gentrification like being able to order a Cortado." Customers are outraged, calling the signs insensitive.

In other, non-coffee news, it's Cyber Monday! Americans are expected to shell out nearly $6.6 billion in online sales today. Cyber Monday was created in 2005, and in the past 12 years, has outpaced the previous shopping king, Black Friday. There's definitely something to be said for scoring 60% off your gift list fromt he comfort of your own home (or desk, we're not judging).
