Drunken Seagulls, Annoying Co-Workers, and ... Barbie Feet?

July 11, 2018

Important-ish things happening today, July 11, 2018:

  • National 7-Eleven Day: Otherwise known as “Free Slurpee Day”!
  • National Blueberry Muffin Day
  • National Mojito Day and
  • Tube to Work Day in Boulder!  (Crazy hippies….)

The George Clooney accident was captured by street surveillance camera. It's a 30 second video and umm.....we don't suggest watching it, unless you like that sort of thing.  Glad you're mostly OK, George!

The NFL's policy on standing for the national anthem may not be settled after all. The NFL Players Association has decided to file a formal grievance over the new policy.

In May, owners approved a rule requiring players on the field to stand for the anthem, but allowing any player to remain in the locker room if they wish. However, the players' union says the policy is "inconsistent with the collective bargaining agreement and infringes on player rights."

According to a huge survey of 381 cities in America, the Top 10 drunkest cities are in the Midwest -- and what in the HELL is going on in Wisconsin?  Geez, guys!  Take a day off every once in a while!

10. La Crosse, Wisconsin

9. Wausau, Wisconsin

8. Grand Forks, North Dakota

7. Missoula, Montana

6. Oshkosh, Wisconsin

5. Fargo, North Dakota

4. Madison, Wisconsin

3. Appleton, Wisconsin

2. Eau Claire, Wisconsin

1. Green Bay, Wisconsin

Besides having seven of the Top 10 drunkest cities in America, Wisconsin also had cities at number 12, number 15 and number 20. Amazingly, only Fairbanks, Alaska, and Watertown, New York, were the non-Midwest cities to make the Top 20. (USA Today)

Animal rescuers in Southwest England have seen an uptick in the number of calls reporting drunk seagulls on beaches.  Perhaps they had recently been to Wisconsin??
