Three Things You Need to Know on May 7th

May 7, 2019

Today is Election Day in Denver, and results will start getting tabulated after 7 p.m.  That's also the deadline for voters to get their ballots turned in.  There are voting centers, as well as drop boxes all over the city.  People can go to DenverVotes.org to find the closest location.  Voters will be deciding on a possible third term for Mayor Michael Hancock, as well as a handful of ballot initiatives.  There are five candidates challenging the mayor.

A Denver bookstore is giving away dozens of copies of the Mueller Report for free.  A spokesperson for BookBar says the store purchased five cases of the report through its nonprofit arm, and expects to go through all five by the end of the week.  The store may even load up copies of the Mueller Report in their bookmobile and distribute them around Denver.  Only in-store customers can get a copy, but people can go to BookBarDenver.com and contribute to "BookGive" to help fund other giveaways in the future.

The Colorado Avalanche and the Denver Nuggest are both still alive in the playoffs! The Avs will head to San Jose to play a seventh and final game in their NHL playoff series with the Sharks.  The Avs beat the Sharks 4-3 in overtime last night in Denver.  Game seven is set for 7 p.m. tomorrow in San Jose, with the winner advancing to the Western Conference championship series. The Nuggets host the Trail Blazers tonight in Game Five of their West semifinal series at the Pepsi Center.
