The 2019 NFL season kicks off tonight.  The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears open the league's centennial season at Soldier Field in Chicago.  The game starts just after 6:00 on NBC. Here in Denver, The Broncos have reached a deal on stadium naming rights with Empower Retirement.  The 21-year agreement means the team will be playing at Empower Field at Mile High.

Hurricane Dorian is now bringing death to the U.S. An 85-year-old North Carolina man was killed Wednesday when he fell from a ladder while preparing his home for the storm. The National Hurricane Center says Dorian will move near or over the coast of South Carolina today before blasting the North Carolina coast tonight and Friday. Close to 500 flights have been cancelled today.  More than 16-hundred were cancelled yesterday, and thousands have been cancelled since Monday.

Governor Polis is inviting everyone statewide to roll up their sleeves and give blood today.  He's proclaimed it Blood Donation Day in the state. Colorado will join dozens of other states in the effort.  People can find donation sites through Vitalant.org. Donors can be as young as 16 with parental consent.
