Three Things You Need to Know on September 4th

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is facing the Senate Judiciary Committee today for the start of his confirmation hearings. Kavanaugh was nominated to replace retired Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is hoping to get Kavanaugh confirmed well before November's midterm elections. 

Nike is choosing former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick as the face of its new Just Do It campaign. Nike is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its Just Do It slogan.  Kaepernick tweeted a photo of himself with the slogan "Believe in something.  Even if it means sacrificing everything."  Kaepernick was the first player to kneel during the national anthem in protest against racism and is currently not playing in the NFL.

The Broncos have released former first-round pick Paxton Lynch.  The team informed the quarterback on Sunday.  Today, Lynch has shuffled off to Buffalo and is practicing with the Bills. Putting it lightly, Hartwick is not overly excited about her team's prospects this year.
