Three Things You Need to Know on September 28th

September 28, 2018

Yesterday, all eyes were on Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and the man she accused of assulting her in 1982, Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Both gave emotional testimonies during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.

The Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to vote today on the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court, and may send his nomination to a vote in the full senate. That could happen as early as next week.

Before that vote happens, the American Bar Association is calling for the FBI to investigate the sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh.  ABA President Robert Carlson sent a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee last night after a day of dramatic testimony on Capitol Hill by Kavanaugh and his accuser.  The letter says an appointment to the Supreme Court is too important to rush to a vote.
