Three Things You Need to Know on September 27th

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh will testify in the Senate today. Kavanaugh is expected to refute allegations that he tried to sexually assault Ford when the two were in high school. 

President Trump says he rejected a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the UN this week.  Speaking in New York yesterday, Trump said he's very unhappy about the ongoing trade dispute with Canada.  He also said his team does not like Canada's trade representative very much.  Trump touted a new trade deal with Mexico and said he hopes Canada will sign on too.  He again slammed NAFTA and called it a very bad deal for the U.S. 

The city of Denver is ending a pilot program meant to give homeless people a safe place to store their belongings.  The city placed ten storage lockers near Park Avenue and Lawrence Street in May of last year as a way to help the homeless secure their possessions.  But the Denver Post reports the city has removed all of the lockers after finding that homeless people were actually living inside of the four-by-six-foot storage rooms.  Officials say the program could return in another location, though access would be restricted to people who were looking for employment.
