Canada's prime minister is in trouble for an old photo that shows him wearing brownface makeup during a party.  Time magazine says the photo appears in a yearbook for the private school where Justin Trudeau was teaching in 2001 at age 29.  In it he's wearing a turban with his face painted brown. The picture was apparently taken at an "Arabian Nights"-themed party that was attended by faculty, administrators and parents.

The GM union strike is leading to layoffs.  The United Auto Workers strike at General Motors is now in its fourth day, and workers continue to picket GM plants across the U.S.  In Canada, GM says it plans to temporarily lay off 13-hundred workers at its final assembly plant in Ontario because of the strike.

Colorado now has six cases of a severe lung illness connected to vaping.  The latest numbers were released by state health officials yesterday. Four of those cases have resulted in hospital stays.  The illness is affecting mostly young people in the state who are reporting vaping marijuana, nicotine or both. Hundreds of cases have been reported across the U.S., including several deaths in other parts of the country.  The outbreak has led to crackdowns on the industry.
