Hurricane Florence is getting ready to hit the East Coast. Florence has been downgraded to a Category 2 storm, but is still packing dangerous winds of 110 miles per hour. Forecasters are predicting a storm surge along the North Carolina coast as high as 13 feet in some locations, and as much as 40 inches of rain. Florence is expected to make landfall Friday.

A new report says the U.S. has more migrant children in custody than at any time in history.  The New York Times says nearly 13-thousand children are in custody at U.S. detention facilities.  The main reason for the increase is that children are no longer being released to live with families and other sponsors while they are being processed.  Most of the children are teenagers from Central America who arrived at the border without their parents.

Comedian Norm Macdonald is putting his foot in his mouth, again.  Macdonald said on yesterday's Howard Stern Show that someone would have to have Down syndrome to not feel sorry for harassment victims.  Macdonald was trying to do damage control after he told an interviewer the previous day that sexual abuse and harassment victims don't have to go through what Louis C.K. and Roseanne Barr did, who lost their entire careers in one day. Yeah, that didn't exactly reverse any damage.
