Voter registration in Tennessee has seen an unusual spike, and Taylor Swift may be the cause. The pop star announced on social media over the weekend that she'll be voting for Democratic candidates Phil Bredesen for Senate and Congressman Jim Cooper in Tennessee.  Of the 5,183 voter registrations in Tennessee this month, at least 2,144 occurred after Swift posted her statement to Instagram on Sunday. The state’s deadline for voter registration is today, 9 October, which may also have contributed to the rush. There were 2,811 new Tennessee voter registrations in September.

Michael is strengthening to a Category 2 storm with maximum sustained winds at 100 miles-per-hour. The center of Michael is anticipated to make landfall tomorrow along Florida's Gulf Coast.

Former Denver Bronco Peyton Manning says he's too busy to care that Drew Brees broke his record for NFL passing yards. Manning posted a video to the Denver Broncos website last night. In the video, Manning says he's too busy with things like fixing dinner to really pay attention.  Near the end of the video, Manning drops the act and congratulates Brees for breaking the record, saying he was proud of the New Orleans quarterback.
