Three Things You Need to Know on October 18th

October 18, 2018

This morning, the Washington Post published what may be journalist Jamal Khashoggi's final article. Khashoggi has been a critic of the Saudi government and hasn't been seen since he went into the Saudi consulate in Istanbul more than two weeks ago. President Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo meet today for a report on what Pompeo learned about Khashoggi's disappearance during his visits in Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

Vice President Mike Pence will be in the Denver area today.  Pence is scheduled to fly into Buckley Air Force Base sometime around mid-morning. He's scheduled to speak at a private fundraiser, so while the public may not see him, we'll all know he's here.  That's mostly because traffic will be more intense than usual during the midday hours, and some roads may be closed.

It's a long shot, but someone's eventually going to have to win it. As of right now, the Mega Millions jackpot for this Friday's drawing will be almost $900 million, the second largest in U.S. history.  Millions of Americans are also looking forward to Saturday's Powerball drawing.  No one won Wednesday's drawing, so the Powerball jackpot is now up to 430-million dollars.
