Three Things You Need to Know on November 13th

The Camp Fire, burning in the Northern California foothills, is now the deadliest wildfire in the state's history. Recovery teams found 13 more bodies yesterday, pushing the death toll to 42. The Butte County Sheriff said more search and rescue teams and cadaver dogs are being requested as the search for additional victims continues. 

Well, Denver is out of the running for Amazon's HQ2. There are reports Amazon is choosing New York City and northern Virginia as locations of its second headquarters.  The Wall Street Journal reports the announcement is expected as soon as today.  Amazon is believed to be dividing the headquarters evenly between Crystal City, Virginia and New York's Long Island City neighborhood.  

We saw a lot of snow in the city yesterday, and the mountains have seen even more. Recent snowfall in the high country means more terrain opening up for Colorado skiers and snowboarders.  Vail and Beaver Creek are starting up their seasons early for the first time in over ten years.  Vail opens tomorrow, with Beaver Creek opening Saturday.  Monarch Mountain will fire up its lifts on Friday, well ahead of its November 21st scheduled opening.  Winter Park also opens tomorrow.
