The 2019 Scripps National Spelling Bee has an eight-way tie for first.  In an extraordinary move on Thursday, the spelling competition crowned eight co-champions who went the final five rounds without misspelling a single word.   Each will get a 50-thousand dollar check for being a co-champion. 

U.S. tariffs on Mexican imports could rise up to 25-percent over the next few months. President Trump has announced five-percent tariffs on all goods from Mexico because of the number of illegal immigrants crossing the U.S-Mexico border. He says the tariffs go into effect on June 10th, and will go up to ten-percent on July 1st, and five-percent higher each month after. 

A rally is set for tomorrow in Denver's Civic Center Park to push Congress to fund research on gun violence.  The event will include Colorado medical professionals, as well as the gun violence prevention organization led by former Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.  A measure has been approved in a U.S. House committee to dedicate 50-million-dollars for research on the issue, but it hasn't moved any further.  Tomorrow's rally is scheduled for 11 a.m.
