Three Things You Need to Know on March 4th

March 4, 2019

Severe weather is sweeping across the country. California's Sierra Nevada region saw tons of snow, and tornadoes hit the Southeast. At least 23 people were killed by tornadoes in Lee County, Alabama. In the small town of Talbotton, Georgia more than a dozen buildings were destroyed, including homes and at least one apartment building.

Here in Colorado, the weekend storm that brought snow to Denver, and avalanches to I-70, is moving out, but it's leaving behind some chilly temperatures for the Denver metro area.  Today's high may not break the 20-degree mark.  In the high country this weekend, some areas received upward of 20 inches.  Thankfully, Denver will warm up later this week with highs in the 30s and 40s.

BUt the really big news out of Colorado this morning is that former Governor John Hickenlooper is officially running for President.  The Democrat announced his decision in a campaign ad.  The ad highlights Hickenlooper's background, his work as governor and his desire to create change in Washington, DC.  Hickenlooper will have his campaign kick-off rally this Thursday evening in Denver.
