Three Things You Need to Know on June 4th

The deadline to turn in a ballot in the Mayoral Runoff Election is 7 p.m.  Two-term incumbent Michael Hancock is facing challenger Jamie Giellis.  Also on the ballot are five Denver City Council seats and the Denver Clerk and Recorder.  The only measure being voted on today is Citizen-initiated Ordinance 302, which asks if residents should be given a vote if they want public funds to be used in connection to any future Olympic Games. 

A notable meeting is planned to happen between President Trump and outgoing British Prime Minister Theresa May in London today. The two leaders are also expected to hold a joint news conference as Trump continues his first state visit to Great Britain. Trump will then be taking part in D-Day ceremonies in Normandy, France later this week. 

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell believes the preseason is too long.  Speaking at Jim Kelly's charity golf tournament near Buffalo, Goodell said he didn't think it takes four games for a team to evaluate players for a regular season.  The league and the union have already begun discussions.
