Three Things You Need to Know on June 3rd

The President and First Lady Melania Trump are in Great Britain, kicking off a three-day state visit.   Queen Elizabeth and other members of the Royal Family will hold a formal arrival ceremony at Buckingham Palace later this morning.  The Trumps will have a private lunch with the Queen before traveling to Westminster Abbey. The President and First Lady will also visit Ireland and France this week.

Memorials have been set up throughout Virginia Beach to honor the victims of Friday's mass shooting. A city engineer who had just resigned opened fire inside a municipal building on Friday. 12 people were killed, four are still recovering from injuries. A public vigil is scheduled for tomorrow night at a Virginia Beach church. 

The mayoral runoff election in Denver is tomorrow.  Mayor Michael Hancock is being challenged by Jamie Giellis in the first runoff election since 1995.  Districts 1, 3, 5, and 9 of the Council are also on the ballot, as well as clerk and recorder.
