Three Things You Need to Know on June 27th

The first Democratic Presidential debate took place in Miami last night. We heard from ten candidates including Senator Elizabeth Warren, Beto O'Rourke, and Senator Cory Booker Tonight comes round two of the Democratic presidential debates.  Frontrunner Joe Biden will be joined by senators Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris, and South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg.  Former Colorado governor John Hickenlooper and current U.S. Senator Michael Bennet will also hit the stage tonight. Tonight's session starts at 7 p.m. Mountain Time. 

A Denver man is dead following a sickness he came down with while on vacation in the Dominican Republic.  The family announced yesterday that Khalid Adkins had passed away.  The man is the latest in a string of deaths among American tourists in the Dominican Republic this year.  Adkins had tried to fly home to the U.S. over the weekend, but was forced to get off the plane before takeoff due to illness.  

Denver has its first official 90-degree day for 2019.  The temp topped out at an even 90 in the city.  The warm-up comes after some cooler than normal weather last weekend.  The National Weather Service says the first 90-degree day of the year is the 17th latest in Denver history.  The city typically hits that mark around June 10th.
