The U.S. is sending a thousand more troops to the Middle East to counter threats posed by Iran.  Acting Defense Secretary Pat Shanahan said Monday the soldiers will be deployed for "defensive purposes" against possible threats from Iran.  Shanahan insists that the U.S. isn't seeking war with Iran.

Facebook will reveal details today about its new cryptocurrency project, code named Libra.  The new currency already has support from companies like Visa and PayPal.  It's thought it will allow more than two-billion users across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp to make transactions without fees.   

The Broncos will be honoring late owner Pat Bowlen this season, but there are no plans currently on the table to rename Broncos Stadium at Mile High after him.  Team President and CEO Joe Ellis says he doesn't believe Bowlen would have wanted his name on the side of the stadium.  The team will honor the late owner at the first home game and wear a special helmet sticker during the upcoming season.  Broncos fans will have the opportunity today to pay their respects to Bowlen at a ceremony and event at Bronco's Stadium.
