Longtime Red Sox star David Ortiz is recovering from surgery after he was shot Sunday in the Dominican Republic. The Dominican National Police say Ortiz was shot in the back at a bar in hometown of Santo Domingo by a man who tried to get away on a motorcycle. He was chased down by a crowd and arrested. 

President Trump doesn't think there will be any problems when Mexican lawmakers vote on a new agreement about immigration. The agreement will see Mexico send thousands of National Guard troops to its southern border to stem the flow of Central American migrants working their way toward the U.S.  In exchange, Trump agreed not to slap all Mexican imports to the U.S. with tariffs that could have started today. 

Former Colorado governor and presidential candidate John Hickenlooper will take part in a National Press Club event this week in Washington, DC.  Thursday's speech will focus on the intensifying abortion debate across the country.  Hickenlooper will talk about Colorado's Family Planning Initiative, and why he believes it could be implemented on the national level.
