August 20, 2019

The White House is putting together plans in case of a recession, including a possible payroll tax cut. Economists in the administration are also looking at other tax breaks to keep the economy moving. Tax breaks would have to be approved by Congress. One White House official denied the reports Monday and the President has rejected the idea that the country could be headed for recession.

Temperatures will be slightly cooler today after yesterday's record heat.  Denver topped out at 99 degrees on Monday, breaking a more than three-decade-old record.  The previous mark was 97 set back in 1986.  Today's high is expected to be in the low to mid-90s.  Tomorrow is expected to be cooler with a good chance of rain in the forecast.

The Denver Broncos are down a quarterback following last night's loss to the 49ers.  San Francisco orchestrated three touchdown drives in the second half on their way to beating the Broncos 24-15 at Mile High.  Kevin Hogan took over the quarterback duties in the second half after rookie Drew Lock jammed his right thumb.  Denver will visit Los Angeles to take on the Rams Saturday.
