States across the country are working their way towards decriminalizaing, or even legalizing marijuana. New York City will no longer prosecute cases of marijuana possession starting today.  Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance said yesterday that his office will no longer prosecute such cases unless there's a threat to public safety.  Vance said, it's time New York lawmakers legalize and regulate marijuana once and for all. 

Any MoviePass subscribers out there? Well, sadly, MoviePass is raising its monthly subscription rate.  Customers were paying $9.95 a month to see a movie each day in theaters. That is up to 31 movies a month.  MoviePass said yesterday its new monthly rate is going up to $14.95.  Last week, MoviePass had a temporary service outage because it ran out of money.

Beer lovers are staying close to their computers this morning as general public tickets for the Great American Beer Festival in Denver go on sale.  Tickets tend to sell out just a few hours after they go on sale, so maybe open a browser tab now.  The festival is scheduled for September 20th through the 22nd at the Colorado Convention Center.  Tickets are available right here starting at 10 a.m.
