Three Things You Need to Know on August 19th

Gun control rallies in dozens of cities across the country drew thousands of supporters over the weekend.  Groups including Everytown for Gun Safety Action, Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action organized the rallies.  They're demanding lawmakers take steps to reduce gun violence following this month's deadly mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio.

Denver Public Schools students will be hitting the books today.  It's the first day of the new school year for the district.  Denver police are reminding commuters that they'll see an increase in bike and pedestrian traffic as they head off to work today.  There will also be increased officer visibility in school zones this morning to ensure safety.

The Broncos will be looking to bounce back in tonight's preseason matchup with the 49ers.  The team is coming off a loss to the Seahawks more than a week ago.  The Broncos offense appeared to find its pace on Saturday in the second of two joint practices with the Niners.  Kickoff tonight is 6 p.m. from right here at home!
