Three Things You Need to Know on April 29th

April 29, 2019

People in a Southern California community are supporting one another after the deadly shooting at a synagogue Saturday. People gathered for a candlelight vigil Sunday evening at a park near the synagogue where a woman was killed and three other people were hurt in Poway, north of San Diego. A 19-year-old suspect is charged with first degree murder and attempted murder.

The man suspected of setting off the deadly chain reaction crash last week along I-70 is due back in court on Friday.  Rogel Lazaro Aguilera-Mederos made his first court appearance over the weekend.  He's being held on 400-thousand-dollars bond.  Aguilera-Mederos told investigators his brakes had failed on his descent into Denver on Thursday.  Four people were killed after he slammed into traffic along the interstate in Lakewood.

The Colorado Avalanche are coming home to Denver with a chance to take a big lead in their playoff series against the San Jose Sharks.  The Avalanche won game two of their series with the Sharks 4-3 last night in San Jose, evening the series at one game each.  The win will eliminate home-ice advantage for the Sharks if the Avs can take advantage and win games three and four at the Pepsi Center.  Game four will be tomorrow night at 8 p.m.
