Three Things You Need to Know on July 22nd

Denver has cooled off following last week's triple-digit temps, and across the country, the oppressive and dangerous heat wave is ending. Forecasters say the extreme heat that's buckled roads and led to a number of deaths since last week will start to let up across the Plains, Midwest, and Northeast today and Tuesday. 

Two political figures will visit Colorado today. Ivanka Trump will visit the Lockheed Martin facility in Lakewood for a roundtable discussion on workforce development.  Vice President Mike Pence is expected to attend a fundraiser in Aspen for President Trump and the Republican National Committee.  Pence will also appear at an event for Colorado Senator Cory Gardner in the northern part of the Front Range.  

Denver DirectTV customers are caught in the middle of a dispute between the carrier and CBS.  The network was pulled from the satellite system over the weekend, leaving watchers in the dark.  The two sides can't agree on what CBS is paid for programming.  Denver is one of a number of cities affected by the blackout.
