Three Things You Need to Know on April 25th

Former Vice President Joe Biden is running for president. Biden made the announcement this morning in a video message posted online. Biden is one of nearly two dozen Democrats running to challenge President Trump in 2020, but because of his name recognition he's already considered a frontrunner. 

Legislation involving vaccine exemptions in Colorado is heading for a final vote in the House this morning.  House Bill 1312 would require parents seeking an exemption to fill out state-mandated paperwork to do so.  No one who asks for an exemption would be denied.  The bill also requires state health officials to create educational materials to address the medical benefits of immunizations.  According to the CDC, vaccination rates for Colorado kindergarteners ranked last in the county, with about 89-percent of kids receiving their MMR vaccine. 

Today is Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day.  This year's theme is "Workforce Development for All" so children are empowered to develop their careers.  The annual day to teach your kids about your job is celebrated each year on the fourth Thursday in April.
