Green Book, a film about famed African-American pianist Dr. Don Shirley, is the top winner at this year's Oscars. The film won Best Picture during last night's ceremony, beating out Black Panther, The Favourite, Vice, A Star Is Born, Roma, BlacKkKlansman and Bohemian Rhapsody. For the first time in over two years, Denver will finish a month with above average snowfall.  The city officially had more than eight inches Friday into Saturday, pushing February to above 13 inches.  It's the first time there's been above average snowfall in Denver in 25 months.  The National Weather Service says that's the longest streak in the history of the city.  Things are warming up this week, with temperatures expected to be in the 50s by tomorrow.

A bill is on the table in a state House committee today to regulate the distribution of plastic straws in Colorado restaurants.  If passed, customers would have to request them instead of servers handing them out.  The aim is to reduce the plastic waste around the state, but there are no penalties outlined in the bill.  Colorado is the latest state to consider such a move.  The measure is scheduled for a hearing in front of the House Energy and Environment Committee this afternoon.
