Three Things You Need to Know on March 20th

March 20, 2019

Jay-Z, Halsey, and Robert Plant are some of the artists announced to perform at Woodstock 50.  The festival will take place in Watkins Glen, New York, to mark the 50th anniversary of the original Woodstock festival.  Guitarist Carlos Santana, who tore it up onstage at Woodstock in 1969, is expected to return for the three-day festival starting August 16th.

A new music venue will open in Denver in August.  The 60-thousand square-foot Mission Ballroom will hold its grand opening August 7th.  The new concert hall will hold between two-thousand and four-thousand customers, depending on staging.  Tickets for the opening weekend went on sale yesterday.

State lawmakers are putting enough money in the Colorado budget to accomplish one of the governor's highest priorities.  The Joint Budget Committee approved a 185-million-dollar expenditure yesterday to fund statewide all-day kindergarten.  Governor Polis took to Twitter to thank the committee for their vote, calling it a huge win for Colorado kids.  The amount is less than what the governor asked for, though he said the amount was based on estimated enrollment and would be enough to get the program implemented.
