9 Things to Do in Denver This Weekend, That Don't Totally Suck

June 14, 2019

It's Pride Weekend AND Father's Day! No surprise, there's a lot going on in Denver this weekend.

Rockies vs. Padres at Coors Field

It's going to be a great night for some baseball! If you haven't checked out the Rooftop at Coors Field, maybe tonight is the night. A $16 ticket gets you access to the rooftop bar and a $6 food/drink credit. Best deal in pro sports!

Find tickets here.

Denver BBQ Festival

Barbeques and summer are bestest buddies, so it makes sense that this festival kicks off as the hottest season does. Head on down to Broncos Stadium at Mile High and sample some of the best BBQ in the city. Entry is free, but you'll have to buy your food and drinks. It's like a big backyard party, where no one has to cook or do dishes!

Milk Market Blood Drive
a pint of blood

All day, Vitalant will be setting up their mobile donation units outside the Dairy Block.  June is National Blood Donor Month, and a donation can literally save a life. De we need to give more resons to stop by and donate? Ok, this could be the largest donation event in the state, but Vitalant and the community are counting on you!

PrideFest at Civic Center Park

The LGBTQ+ community and allies will celebrate Denver Pride with two days of live music, exhibitors, and love! The first day of celebrations includes the Pride 5k and a party in the park! All are welcome!

Highlands Street Fair

Highlands Square is the definition of adorable. On Saturday, local businesses (think restaurants, bars, gyms and artists) take to the streets for one big block party! Pick of some locally made stuff, grab a nice cold drink, and enjoy one of the cutest neighborhoods in the city.

Vinyasa and Vino

Infinite Monkey Theorem in RiNo invites you to bring your mat and strike your best downward dog pose. At Noon on Saturday, they will host a totally free yoga class, led by CorePower Yoga. I may have tried this before, but got sidetracked by the $4 wine...

Coors Light Pride Parade

Colfax Ave witll be one giant rainbow on Sunday morning! I'll be dancing atop the Fundraising Fire Truck, and everyone will be celebrating love and equality! All are welcome at this street party, and at Pride Fest, which continues at Civic Center Park.

Parade route info here.

Dad Bod Competition

Station 26 will be hosting their first ever Dad Bod Competition. The loosely structured pageant includes an obstacle course in which dad's will have to carry groceries in one trip, turn off lights, and express their disappointment. It's mostly about the glory, and glorfication of the Dad Bod, not the prize, because I don't think there is one...

Shakesbeer presents: As you Like It

Feel like Shakespeare isn't for you? Well the group at Shakesbeer is out to prove that Shakespeare is for everyone! Ratio Beerworks in RiNo will host a free performance of As You Like It (a comedy) condensed into an hour, with a bunch of drinks. That's how we like it.
