8 Things to Do in Denver This Weekend, That Don't Totally Suck

After a week of horrible weather, we are ready to get out and about in the Mile High City! Here are just a few of the excellent options for fun around town this weekend.

Friday

Questival Denver

This city-wide (and beyond) scavenger hunt takes place over 24 hours. The challenges are meant to get you outside and exploring Denver and our amazing, mountainous backyard. They range from simple to difficult, and there are great prizes to be won. Teams of 2-6 can be registered up until kickoff on Friday afternoon. Hartwick has done Questival before, and even won a challenge prize!

Food Truck Carnival

The city of Northglenn is inviting food trucks out for a weekend of fun at the Northglenn City Hall. With the price of admission, you'll get to ride all of the carnival rides and peruse over 25 food trucks!

Saturday

Denver Bacon and Beer Classic

The 4th annual Bacon and Beer classic is back at Mile High Stadium on Saturday. Some of the best local chefs will be serving bacon inspired dishes and over 100 beers will be on tap for you to sample. Plus, you get a super cool ceramic cup to take home, which will remind you of all the fun times you had, because there's a chance you might not remember on your own!

Union Station Farmer's Market Opening Day

Farmers markets are one of the best parts of Spring and Summer. Browse produce, baked goods and handmade wares from 9am - 1pm outside Union Station on Saturday. The sun should finally be shining, and it's a great way to shop local!

Rocket Ice Cream Opening Day

It isn't just farmer's markets that are back up and running, Rocket Ice Cream in Lowry is open for summer, and they are giving away free scoops from 12-2! Just stop on down, and maybe get your face painted while you're there!

Sunday

Mother's Day Brunch
varies

Get your mom a mimosa at one of the many Mother's Day brunches happening around town. El Five in LoHi will be home to great views and live music. The Downtown Aquarium will host a Mother's Day buffet. Tamayo in Larmimer Square will serve up their signature bottomless brunch, which applies to food and drinks. And for the mom who prefers brews over bubbles, Fiction Beer Company will be doing a beer and cheese pairing, and Diebolt Brewing in Sunnyside is handing out free flowers to moms!

Mother's Day 5k

Maybe you've got a mom that likes to run. Get the whole fam together for a friendly 5k in City Park. Money from every ticket goes to support the DPS Foundation, so you'll do something good for you health, your mom, and local schools.
