7 Things to Do in Denver This Weekend, That Don't Totally Suck

June 21, 2019

It's officially summer (though the weather coulda' fooled us). Get out and get after it at these great local events!

Alternation Happy Hour

Vegans face the unique struggle of trying to find good, local, vegan friendly beer, that is, of course, unless they live in Denver. Alternation Brewing is a 100% vegan brewery, complete with vegan food trucks, that hosts one heck of a happy hour on South Broadway on Friday nights. Stop by for a pint and some tunes on the back patio.

Jefferson Park Summer Solstice Market

The first in a series of Urban Markets kicks off at 4pm on Friday. Grab an Aperol spritz and browse some of the local vendors, play a game or two and listen to some music. It’s a pretty chill outdoor party, and a great way to spend the longest day of the year!

TED talks are coming to Denver! This series of talks aim to explore the human element behind every innovation. Getting a little Black Mirror perhaps? Speakers include some of Denver’s best and brightest. Why not exercise your brain a bit this weekend?

Denver Deluxe

The RiNo neighborhood will shut down some streets and play host to a bunch of musicians all day on Saturday. The Denver Deluxe combines all summer essentials including beers, burgers and bands for one great festival!

.5k Bar Run

You read that right, 0.5k. Roughly 1,600 feet, give or take a few. This high speed run barrels down South Broadway from Hi_Dive to Illegal Pete’s at 11:30am. Runners should arrive at the finish by 11:35 or so, and will likely be in desperate need of burritos and margs. Proceeds go to a good cause, so it doesn’t matter that it will be a terrible workout.

Yoga on the Green

Viewhouse’s Ballpark location will host a calming (and free!) yoga session on Sunday. Stretch out, find your zen, and enjoy free bottomless mimosas if you stick around for brunch! Sun salutations start promptly at 9am, bring your own mat!

Jazz in the Park

Every Sunday night, local jazz musicians take to the stage , for your free entertainment at City Park. It’s one of the best weekly events of the summer, and this year, Denver Beer Co. has a lounge and beergarden set up to make the outdoor experience truly enjoyable! The music starts at 6 and goes until 8!
