Things to do in Denver
Categories:

If you're skipping the ski weekend and sticking around Denver, we've rounded up some of the best things happening around town, so you can make the most of your days off!

ALL WEEKEND:

National Western Stock Show
<$25
This is a Denver-area annual staple. From rodeos, to trade shows, and great food, there are events and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Maybe even pick up a killer pair of boots or a belt buckle that sure to serve as a conversation starter.
Get tickets here. Yee Haw.

Run/Drink for fire relief in Australia
donations encouraged
Across the city, multiple organizations are asking you to lace up, drink up and step up to help fund relief efforts in Australia.
Some events include:

Bevvies for Ozzies at Black Shirt Brewing

Australia Relief Run at Wash Park

Prost for Australia at Prost Brewing

FRIDAY:

Rolling 20’s at Tracks/EXDO
$5
We’re officially in the 20’s, why not celebrate by rolling back in time at Tracks/EXDO for a gint, 1920’s themed roller skating party! Admission is just 5 bucks, and that included skate rentals, as well as access to the ENTIRE Tracks/EXDO compound. Themed costumes are heavily encouraged. I don’t know what it’s like to wipe out in a beaded fringe flapper dress, but I sure can’t wait to find out!

Bingo Brunch at Night - Milk Market
brunch budget
This is like those times you got to eat breakfast for dinner as a kid, except there’s Bingo, and alcohol. If you’re tired of the weekends getting all the champagne fun, make Friday the new Sunday at Milk Market.

SATURDAY:

Free Day at the Denver Zoo
FREE! (duh)
Just seven times a year, admission to the Denver Zoo is free! This Saturday is the 2nd free day of the year. It’s shaping up to be a pretty nice day, weather-wise, so get there early, or get ready for some crowds!
All the details are right here.

Womxn’s March
free to march, EXPO $10 donation
Beginning at 9:30AM, people committed to gender equality in Colorado will gather near Civic Center Park for the annual Womxn’s March. This year, the march will also include the IMPACT EXPO, a ticketed event that includes art exhibits, workshops, and information from many Denver-area non-profit organizations.
Info on the day's events here.

Hops + Hair - Breckenridge Brewing
$35
A lot of men are hopeless when it comes to hair, and that’s mostly OK, until it’s their turn to get the kids ready. Let’s make the old “dad did my hair” disappointment a cliche of the past! Breck Brewing is hosting a pretty cool Daddy/Daughter day, where dads will drink a few beers and learn to do their kid’s hair. If you can learn to brain after downing a Vanilla Porter, it’ll be no problem on a school day!
Here are all the hairy details.

Denver Comedy Underground with Brandt Tobler
$5-15
I’m sure you already knew that Denver is home to one of the best comedy scenes in the country. Even if you didn’t know that, you can still attend this weekly show at the Irish Snug on Colfax. This Saturday, Brandt Tobler headlines, and the show’s an absolute steal at just $6 (if you buy in advance).
Get ready to laugh.

All You Can Drink Yacht Rock Party
$25
We’re gonna make your dreams come true, or Jackson’s in Lodo is. Grab a captains hat (and probably a snack before the party) and get ready to get down to your favorite Yacht Rock jamz, all night long. $25 will get you drinks for the evening, and access to the snazziest dance floor in town.
Bon voyage!

SUNDAY:

Polar Bear 5k at Wash Park
$28
This event is meant to be for those willing to brave the denver cold and run off the Colorado chill. Not so much this weekend, it’s gonna be in the mid 40’s, but that should give you even more of a reason to hit the road! There’s a free kids fun run, and finishers get a few post-race treats. Advance registration will save you a couple bucks, but if you’re making a game-time decision, you can still register the day of.

Cannonball Creek 7th Anniversary
free-ish
This (mostly) free event has everything you hope for in a brewery anniversary party. Live Music. Food Trucks. Beer releases. Hopefully you don't have to work on Monday morning!
