Project Sanctuary Spotlight Family

A Salute to The Trump Family

Spotlighting a Military Family Helped by Project Sanctuary

June 10, 2019

We have been an Army family since 2011, when Jordan joined, and while the experience has been greatly rewarding, it has also brought us unique challenges. Jordan is a Purple Heart recipient after an incident while deployed in Afghanistan in 2013, and our family feels the weight of that experience, daily. Jordan has been changed through his service, and so have I, and we see the way it impacts our 5 children in both positive and difficult ways.

We wouldn’t change our story, and we love the life we live. However, when Jordan came out of command earlier this year, we all felt very weighed down and in need of some respite. It was perfect timing that a friend told us about PS, and the wonderful opportunity to be loved on as a family. We looked into it, found the staff very accommodating in reserving dates, and got our time scheduled.

When we showed up, we had only an outline of what to expect, but really couldn’t picture all that was in store for us. I feel truly blessed by the information/resources available, but also for the bonding and growth we experienced through the adventurous activities. All 7 of us had a great time, and came home feeling uplifted. For that, we are grateful!
