Did 'The Bachelor' Have a 'Game of Thrones' Starbucks Cup-Style Blunder?

January 14, 2020

No one’s getting a rose for this one!

Fans of ‘The Bachelor’ wanted answers after spotting two unexplained items during the cocktail party on Monday night’s episode, reports People.

Viewers were perplexed by the appearance of a bottle of maple syrup and a can of whipped cream that appeared on the coffee table in the living room.

“Is it just me or is that maple syrup on the table?” asked one fan who tweeted a photo of the scene with a red circle crudely drawn around the sweet surprise.

“A very casual bottle of Aunt Jemima Maple Syrup on the Bachelor coffee table during date night,” chimed in another sleuth.

“Yo this maple syrup needs to leave the shot,” said another.

The investigation made it all the way to Reddit, where users reached a perfectly sound explanation: the syrup and whipped cream were left over from time that Peter Weber spent with Mykenna, who was seen holding the items in an earlier shot.

The theory is that this segment didn’t make the episode’s final cut. Redditors also noted that Mykenna is Canadian, so the maple syrup would make sense.

Fans were also talking about #ChampagneGate, in which a bottle of the sparkly drink bubbled back in Kelsey's face after she took a swig.

“Wtf did I just witness,” wrote a user who posted a loop of the moment.

The syrup and whipped cream call to mind the infamous Starbucks coffee cup that made its way on screen in the last season of ‘Game of Thrones.’

HBO has since admitted the moment was a mistake. But in October, Emilia Clarke revealed the culprit on an appearance of 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon': Conleth Hill, who played none other than Varys.

“We had like a party before the Emmys recently, and Conleth Hill, who plays Varys, who’s sitting next to me in that scene, he pulls me aside and he’s like ‘Emilia, I’ve got to tell you something. I’ve got to tell you something, love. The coffee cup was mine!” the Daenerys actress revealed.

The 24th season of ‘The Bachelor’ premiered Jan. 7.

The show airs Mondays on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.
